Allow your child to stay in your lap or close to you when they wish. This called “safety-refill-process” as the child comes to the caretaker in order to strengthen their sense of security. Cuddling is also important when your child needs comforting. Look at pictures together, name the pictures and explain verbally the everyday tasks you are doing to support your child’s language development. Respond to your child when they wish to tell you something. If unsure of the meaning, ask your child to show. Dance with your child. Support your child to practice sharing the toys with others.
